两百多年后的今天,菲利普斯学校仍然充满活力,不仅向世人展示着她丰富的历史传统和建校人当年的梦想与渴望,而且不断改革创新,与时代同步发展。
1972~1981年任该学校校长的Theodore R. Sizer曾是哈佛大学教育研究生院的院长,他在就任该校校长期间指出:
“Andover ought to stand for the ideal of a heterogeneous school. It ought to demonstrate the special power of such for learning. Accordingly, Andover should vigorously recruit an international student body, boys and girls of social, racial, national and religious diversity. (安多福应该坚持做一个多元化学校的观念。她应该展示这种多元性对学习所能带来的特殊力量。为此,安多福应竭力招收国际学生,招收不同社会阶层、不同民族、不同国家、不同信仰的男孩和女孩。)

“The founders of this school knew better...teenage years are something in which to invest, to respect or to trust, and we reassert that knowledge. We do take youth, and adolescent education, seriously. Youth is important, a crucial time of life. 2000年,学校在更新的“办学宗旨”中,重申了当初的办学思想,也融入了新时期的特点。
